I am Nelson Franklin Were — a Nairobi-born technology founder and Director at Cres Dynamics Ltd. I build the operational systems that African businesses depend on every day.
Who I Am — Personally
I grew up believing that the best work solves a real problem completely — not partially, not as a demo, and not as something you abandon after launch. That belief is what drives everything I do today.
In my 20s, I am founder of OptioHire (optiohire.com) and I work as Director at Cres Dynamics Ltd in Westlands, Nairobi. I am not building a portfolio of experiments. I am building infrastructure — ERP systems, finance platforms, AI automation, and payment integrations that organisations run their daily operations on.
I graduated from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology in 2025 with a degree in Information Technology. But the work that shaped me happened outside the classroom: live production deployments, client meetings, team leadership, and systems that had to work because real salaries and real revenue depended on them.
What Drives Me
I wake up at 4am because there is always a problem worth solving — a business stuck on spreadsheets, a founder drowning in manual processes, an organisation that cannot scale because their tools were never designed for where they are going.
My personal standard is simple, inherited from every mentor who invested in me: find the real problem, solve it completely, deliver results the client cannot argue with, then find the next problem. That is not a tagline. It is how I evaluate my own work.
I do not build features. I build operational systems — the kind that become invisible infrastructure, like electricity. You only notice them when they are gone.
Director, Cres Dynamics Ltd
At Cres Dynamics I work as Director, leading delivery of custom ERP systems, finance platforms, AI automation, e-commerce, and business operating systems for enterprise clients across Kenya. Our team operates from Kivuli Towers, Westlands. I am proud of what we ship — and of the discipline we bring before a single line of code is written.
We are currently in proposal discussions for a 12-module Business Operating System for Millenia Limited — the largest enterprise engagement in the company's pipeline to date.
Founder, OptioHire
OptioHire is my first SaaS product — an AI-powered talent acquisition platform at optiohire.com. I started it because I watched growing Kenyan businesses struggle to hire at scale without sacrificing quality. OptioHire approaches launch in 2026, and it represents my shift from project-based delivery to recurring infrastructure.
Beyond the Screen
I am in active partnership discussions with my alma mater, JOOUST, to create a mentorship pipeline, live-project internships at Cres Dynamics, and OptioHire as a graduate placement engine for Kenyan talent.
On 20 June 2026 I am hosting The Future of AI in Business at Sarit Expo Centre — a summit for business owners, developers, and operators who want practical AI, not hype.
